In 1952, approximately 20 residents of the Pompano Beach area met for the purpose of learning how to play duplicate Bridge. From this humble beginning, our club grew large enough to be able to raise funds to purchase the land and erect the building which now houses our club.  Our club was recognized as the second ranking Bridge Club in the U.S. We take great pride in being a friendly club and welcoming new players to the game of Bridge. We are a zero tolerance club.

About our Manager, Jeanni Blume

 In addition to being manager of PBDBC, Jeanni directs and teaches all levels of Bridge.  Being a member of the Bridge community for so many years, Jeanni is well known and sought out as a mentor by teachers, directors and other Bridge professionals. She has been directing for Marty Bergen’s “Bridge at Sea” cruises and has also sponsored her own cruises with great success. Jeanni has been featured in the Bridge Teacher Newsletter for her teaching skills.

Jeanni’s teaching method is based on MODERN BASIC BRIDGE. The Beginner and Advanced Beginner classes use the Audrey Grant series of textbooks as one of the components of their curriculum. Jeanni’s teaching excellence stems from using the best available Bridge resources as well as her own original material. Her classes include handouts summarizing the key points of the lesson, quizzes and preset hands to practice and review the new skill, the play of the hand and the defense.

Jeanni is also well known for her workshop-type lessons for the more experienced players. These are packed with valuable information and have helped hundreds of Bridge players acquire the skill they need to improve their game.
